Traffic Signal System Designs – In Anderson, SC, Sprague & Sprague designed two systems of 40 intersections and 20 intersections including alternative systems analyses, development of system plans and specifications, and signal plans. For the larger system, assistance during installation and initial operation of the system was also provided. As a subcontractor on another project is Macon, GA, Sprague & Sprague developed timing plans for subsystems. Traffic Engineering Consulting Services - In Anderson County, SC; Greenville County, SC; Conway, SC; and Hilton Head Plantation, Hilton Head Island, SC, Sprague & Sprague provided consulting services in the areas of traffic operations (signs, signals, and pavement markings) and traffic calming. Signal Systems Studies - As a subcontractor, Sprague & Sprague ran signal timing programs for proposed arterial signal systems and developed recommendations for signal staff additions in DeKalb County, GA. Also as a subcontractor, Sprague & Sprague supplied data and local input for a study of coordination of City and State signals in Greenville, SC. Sprague & Sprague provided field data to the prime consultant for upgrade of approximately 75 signals throughout the state of Georgia. In addition, Sprague & Sprague developed a “performance specification” for a new signal system in Greenville, South Carolina. Traffic Signal Warrant Studies and Signal Designs - For proposed or existing commercial uses, Sprague & Sprague produced signal designs in Murphy, NC, Anderson, SC, Aiken, SC, North Charleston, SC, Douglas County, GA, Augusta, GA, Georgetown, SC, Greenwood, SC, Lexington, SC, Orangeburg, SC, Florence, SC, North Augusta, SC, Lake City, SC, Spartanburg, SC, Pendleton, SC, Hartwell, GA, North Augusta, SC, and Surfside, SC and conducted signal warrant studies in Greenville, SC, North Charleston, SC, Charleston, SC, Orangeburg, SC, Spartanburg, SC, Anderson, SC, Oconee County, SC, and Matthews, NC. Downtown Circulation - Sprague & Sprague identified short-term and long-range strategies for the City of Clemson, SC, to deal with congestion and circulation downtown. As a subcontractor Sprague & Sprague analyzed and made recommendations for short-term improvements in downtown circulation in Fayetteville, NC, and acted as local issues coordinator in the development of a downtown transportation master plan for Greenville, SC. Sprague & Sprague examined downtown directional signing and made recommendations in Greenville, SC, and Winston-Salem, NC. Local Government Services - While the City Traffic Engineer position was vacant, Sprague & Sprague provided technical services to the City of Greenville. Sprague & Sprague provided traffic planning services to Rock Hill Planning Commission as needed, especially addressing rezoning and subdivision requests and provided consulting services concentrating on the review of traffic impact studies to the City of Asheville during a vacancy in the traffic engineering position there. Congestion Management Studies/Traffic Management Systems - As a subcontractor, Sprague & Sprague assisted in data collection and project review and provided local input during discussions of organizational structure and administration for the traffic management system study in Greenville, SC. Sprague & Sprague also provided preliminary concepts for Advanced Traffic Management Systems and Advanced Traveler Information Systems for the Greenville Sports Arena in downtown Greenville, and provided local input for design of the downtown signal system in Greenville. As a subcontractor, Sprague & Sprague provided a review of congestion, identified causes, and recommended solutions for congestion management studies in Greenville, SC, Rock Hill, SC, and Anderson, SC. Traffic Calming – Developed traffic calming plans and gathered neighborhood input for five neighborhoods in Greenville County, SC. School Traffic - Sprague & Sprague studied school access and circulation and made recommendations for improvements for existing and proposed schools including elementary, middle, high, and college in Mount Pleasant, SC, Charleston, SC, Anderson, SC, Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, and Savannah, GA. For the City of Charlotte, Sprague & Sprague assisted in revisions to the School Crossing and Speed Zone Guidelines. |
